Oh yeah -- because the Founders made a compromise to appease local loyalties -- read slave holding Southern oligarchs -- when they wrote the Constitution. This undemocratic residue of past injustice is one more legacy of white supremacy.

Federalism is becoming creaky ...
Oh yeah -- because the Founders made a compromise to appease local loyalties -- read slave holding Southern oligarchs -- when they wrote the Constitution. This undemocratic residue of past injustice is one more legacy of white supremacy.
This is something to think about. Population shifts over time, from east to west, from north to south. Interestingly, much of the South has gained in population.
