What animates Dianne Feinstein...

Would that California's senior Senator got this excited about protecting the Constitution and ending the war:

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., watched from a Marina Green reviewing stand as the [Fleet Week] parade of ships passed by. Asked about the Blue Angels' flights, she said the team should be appreciated for what it is - an amazing display of superb technical proficiency.

"When I was mayor, I went up with the Blue Angels, and we did a loop," she said. "It was the most exciting day of my life."

When Feinstein was mayor here, she was known for tuning in to police radio transmissions and rushing to the scene of fires.

Such boring business as oversight of warrantless wiretapping or Bush's appointment of their man on the election rigging beat [Hans von Spakovsky] to the Federal Election Commission can't seem to get the same quality of attention, though these things are her job.

  1. I think we must be the same person. Over at the SFGate "comments" section for the same story, I left this:

"The real reason we've been subjected to the Blue Angels flying over San Francisco since 1981 is hidden halfway into Susan Sward's article where she prints the following money quote: ""When I was mayor, I went up with the Blue Angels, and we did a loop," [Feinstein] said. "It was the most exciting day of my life." So DiFi had a military-induced orgasm and the rest of us get to pay for it for the rest of our lives, which is yet another reason to despise the woman and her war-profiteering husband."

Nice to see we are on the same wavelength with our amusement, contempt and horror.
