For the first time since the end of the Democratic primary season, Senator Obama seems awfully close to slipping into a dead heat with John McCain. Check any of these sites:
538, Pollster.com, or
Electoral Vote.com. This is depressing. Though 80 percent of us think the U.S. is in deep doodoo, apparently nearly half of us think John McCain, mister bluster and jive, would make a better president than the guy we don't know very well and wonder about.
It's depressing. The Obama campaign is smart; the ground game seems unprecedented -- Obama should pull it out.
But just as I feel about football games, give me a landslide. I hate "good games."
