Since I've been hobbled by severe plantar fasciitis (that's heel pain) since January, I don't have any running stories to tell these days. In fact, I'm only just getting enough better so I can take some inner city walks.
But that doesn't mean I don't see some beautiful creatures.
You'd think these two species of scavenger might be competitive, but they seem to ignore each other.
Dear Jan: I've had plantar fasciitis twice over the years, the second time because I was taking long walks in Palm Springs in a pair of thongs (not smart). The only way I've found to heal it (slowly) is to go out and buy a couple of pairs of the ugliest, most supportive tennis shoes you can find, and then just wear nothing but that until the condition goes away. And it does.
ReplyDeleteYeah -- I've had PF for about 30 years. Usually it is controlled (I don't wear anything but supportive athletic shoes, with fancy inserts.) About once every 10 years it gets really bad. The first time I went through most of the standard stuff -- casts, shots, ultrasound. Now I just suffer and hope. It will pass.
ReplyDeleteI hope it passes quickly, Jan. I know yo miss your running.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your foot pain ... hope you get well soon! Great shots, especially the second one!
