This short film won a contest to show 'How Social Security Has Made a Difference in My Life' put on by the
Open Government Initiative of the Social Security Administration. Erica Solway, Lindsay Trapnell, Laura Hunt, Alex Butterwick, and Kate Schriver topped the competition.
I imagine there are detractors who think it is a misuse of government resources to sponsor such a contest; I don't think there was a material prize. The winners just got bragging rights. I think this was an interesting exercise in participatory democracy.
