Immortality achieved

My mother has been dead for over 15 years. She lives on in the database of these right wing hucksters.

Loosely liberal outfits promoting improbably cuddly critters are also chasing her.

I can't decide whether this sort of mistaken immortality is comforting or appalling.

  1. What's the organization sending the first envelope?

Hawaii has two official languages: English and Hawaiian. But many government documents are published in other languages, including Tagalog, Ilocano, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Samoan, Tongan, and Chamorro.

  2. I honestly didn't bother to register which outfit the English only folks were. There are a lot of them.

Despite frequent hostility to multiple languages -- we tried to outlaw bilingual education by initiative in 1998 -- California isn't terrible on languages. Lots of Spanish and Chinese and sometimes other tongues.

  3. I looked at the corner of the envelope, which says U.S. English, Inc.
