Nothing to add to the reminiscences of Muhammad Ali but this: when I was a young person in the Sixties, his willingness to buck the draft and denounce our immoral war and racism at home was inspiring. He was a hero, while mainstream Amerikkka pour hatred on him.
Hence, on a trip through Louisville in 2006, I was stunned to see that this city had embraced the former pariah, naming a main downtown street/shopping mall for its famous resident. Here's the Google Street View:
