It must be a tough day for a political handler when his candidate has so little to run on that he has to attack the other guy for being too attractive and too smart."There's an interesting line building on Obama that somehow success and intelligence are a handicap," said Mark Sawyer, a UCLA political scientist. "If he wasn't extraordinary, he wouldn't be there. But then he is extraordinary and it becomes, 'He is just too good, too well spoken, too accomplished.' "
A guy whose plane got shot down, suffered, married a beer heiress, and ran, ran, ran for the big house on whatever looked popular at the moment is tough to sell.
