Immigrants for sale

Ever wondered who profits from laws that encourage locking up people who look to law enforcement as if they might be undocumented?

Oh, you thought this sort of thing was a cost to government (and you)? You're right. But some folks are getting rich off private prisons designed to sweep up brown people and suck in taxpayer money.

The private prison lobbyists are doing just fine too. Only the poor workers and ordinary taxpayers lose.

Georgia enacted one of these private prison support laws today, joining Arizona in racist reaction to a changing population.

After working with Hispanics for several years, I know that this is very true and the cost to taxpayers is enormous! Guess who owns a lot of these facilities? Can you say Halliburton? I knew you could.
