Congratulations to all the diplomats who achieved what looks like reasonable give-and-take between adversaries. I wish the Republicans in Congress could learn from this, but I'm not holding my breath.
And congratulations to all the peace advocacy groups that were ready when the news came through to work on mobilizing their constituencies to defend the deal. Miracle of miracles, they managed to combine on a joint petition to begin assembling their forces. That probably took some major diplomacy in itself. If you haven't signed yet, now is the time. Indeed. Obama is at his most impressive these days. He can get things done while the Republicans are forced to deal with their clowns.
