Former detainee recounts CIA torture
Human Rights Watch has released video testimony from a Tunisian man who the U.S. stashed away for 14 years in prisons in Afghanistan. As reported by the Guardian, Lotfi al-Arabi El Gherissi describes previously unreported "techniques" used on him and others, including threatening him with an electrified chair, shoving his head repeatedly into a barrel of water, dousing him with cold water and then beating him while hung by his arms, and shoving something up his anus. In June 2015 he and another detainee, Ridha al-Najjar, were transferred without explanation or apology to Tunisia where he lives freely -- though disabled and penniless.
