Would that California's senior Senator got this excited about protecting the Constitution and ending the war:
When Feinstein was mayor here, she was known for tuning in to police radio transmissions and rushing to the scene of fires.Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., watched from a Marina Green reviewing stand as the [Fleet Week] parade of ships passed by. Asked about the Blue Angels' flights, she said the team should be appreciated for what it is - an amazing display of superb technical proficiency.
"When I was mayor, I went up with the Blue Angels, and we did a loop," she said. "It was the most exciting day of my life."
Such boring business as oversight of warrantless wiretapping or Bush's appointment of their man on the election rigging beat [Hans von Spakovsky] to the Federal Election Commission can't seem to get the same quality of attention, though these things are her job.

I think we must be the same person. Over at the SFGate "comments" section for the same story, I left this:
"The real reason we've been subjected to the Blue Angels flying over San Francisco since 1981 is hidden halfway into Susan Sward's article where she prints the following money quote: ""When I was mayor, I went up with the Blue Angels, and we did a loop," [Feinstein] said. "It was the most exciting day of my life." So DiFi had a military-induced orgasm and the rest of us get to pay for it for the rest of our lives, which is yet another reason to despise the woman and her war-profiteering husband."
Nice to see we are on the same wavelength with our amusement, contempt and horror.
