A couple of days ago I complained about the all-too-visible air here in Anaheim. As it happens, now I can show, not just tell.
On Friday, a bridge over the Santa Ana Freeway looked like this.
Over night the wind came up and the same view looked like this.
Nearby, this was Disneyland's Magic Mountain on Friday.
Not perfect, but much better on Saturday.
In fact, once the winds blew, this view of a snow-capped peak looming over Orange County reminded me of why all these people might have wanted to come here in the first place.
Certainly the mountain in the distance (when visible) is a lot more attractive than Tinkerbelle's butt on a decorative sign, even on a nice clear day.

Good point! In fact one of the good side effects of the global warming theory is that it put the environment on the agenda ...
Hey now! I'm Southern California born and bred. Don'cha know that Wonder Bread, Dodger Dogs, and Stage II Smog Alerts build strong bodies 12 ways?
20 odd years ago when we still lived in SoCal, we had guests arrive from Texas during a time of chewy air. A couple days passed and we got a dose of Santana winds. They saw the San Gabriel foothills for the first time and said, "Where'd those come from?"
Good Times.
(Been living in Placerville the last 16 years above the fog and below the snow.)
It is a rare day here in the desert when we don't have clear air. And when it's hazy dust is the culprit. No Santa Ana winds here, but gusts from the gulf clear it all away.
I must confess -- Tinkerbell's rear view cracked me up! (Am I shallow not also to comment on the poor air quality??)
Actually, that's the faux Matterhorn. Magic Mountain is north of Los Angeles on Interstate 5.
Thanks for the correction, Mike.
There I go, showing my Disneyland ignorance. Haven't actually been inside since 1969, though I seem to pass through Anaheim all too often.
