View out my window: Evanston, Illinois
It's foggy and rainy outside Chicago today.
This picture makes me think about why downtown hotels so often seem to loom over church buildings. My view in Denver also included an old church.
Once upon a time, those churches were the highest, grandest edifices in their neighborhoods. Now they are small breaks in high skylines. Does anyone ever enter them? Possibly, on Sundays. The one in Denver had what appeared to be a daily food line for the down and out. Don't (and won't, because I'll be working) know whether this one does.

The red door on the church really brightens up the bleakness of the day.
It's nice to see that churches get more of a community function now ...
