Nobel committee -- WTF????

Oh come on! I'm on the team for the dude. He repeatedly amazes me. He's got the potential to be a very good leader of the nation and in a world that's in big trouble. But they could have waited til he did something. It's still all potential (and many available signs of his trajectory aren't even that good.)

This is Europe voting again, as it was when the Nobel people gave the economics prize to Paul Krugman in the middle of a U.S. election. They can't cast a ballot here, but they can point out who they think is sane over in the world's rogue state.

One of Obama's apparent best qualities has been a capacity to preserve an internal balance when many of us would be overwhelmed by our emotions. Let's hope he can slough off the nonsense part of this one -- and use whatever leverage it might give him for good ends.

Congratulations Mr. President! It just got even harder.

The 'rabid right' will have a field day with this one. It's just raw meat for their rant machine.

As one who generally supports the intent of Obamas efforts but is wary of his fervent worshipers, I find that providing the award at this time seems to indicate that good intentions are sufficient and actual completion of tasks is apparently irrelevant. Since when has success been measured in terms of what you would like to do?

I too have to agree with Darlene that the awarding of the prize does little more than feed the the fury of those who hate the man. He can now be more easily lumped in with any of the intellectuals and labeled as not one of the "doers".

Only a racist would think he doesn't deserve the Noble Peace Prize at this time.

Just kidding.

I'm happy the world feels the difference he has brought and is bringing. Cynicism has been our armor, but let's celebrate this....just my opinion...
