A Facebook friend of mine is waiting to see what happens at the Democratic convention, as if the delegates miraculously all turn around for Bernie. She's adamant about not voting for Hillary.
How do you see Jill Stein or Gary Johnson as third-party choices?
(And Trump, Clinton, Sanders, Stein, Johnson are not the only ones running: http://www.politics1.com/p2016.htm )
We do have people who think this is the 60s redux and Bernie is their hero. We have to stop all the foolishness and get behind Hillary if we are to save our country. The Green and Libertarian candidates are whack jobs. Really, not all political notions are worth entertaining. Time to grow up and move on.
I am no fan of Greens. In the absence of a real party organization, I have found the local ones too often to be self-aggrandizing individualists. Democracy is a team sport. That perspective lets out Libertarians too -- they seem to think society is an individual game.
I'm no fan of Hillary, but we have to elect her and live to fight another day. Unfortunately, there is always another fight and another day. Accepting that is the hard lesson. No easy answers.
