Advances for women

This map from Census data shows which states are coming closer to parity between men and women's wages. Or so it seems until you notice the size of the gaps that determine the color scheme. Is the difference between 78 percent and 79 percent really that great? Isn't the real scandal that we still have an economy that routinely pays men 20-25 percent more than women most everywhere? Who would have thought we'd see a United Nations Secretary General promoting a practical campaign to protect women, a campaign clearly directed at developed countries? H/t Peter Daou.
