This is bullshit!
Every fall the New Yorker starts with this crap. We love the magazine; we even sometimes read the print version as well as the online version.
But the fine print on this label that I've obscured says our subscription is good for another two years. It is nowhere near expired. What might expire is some deal to give a gift subscription to the magazine for the year end holidays.
Scaring people is lousy marketing. I'm offended. Moreover, this tactic just means I am less likely to open a notice which really does tell me that my sub is expiring. Knock it off, New Yorker!

I have been having the same problem with the New Yorker. I have to keep a notice on my bullitan board now when my subscription expires. I usually pay for a couple of years at a time and still get reminders from them. It is still one of the best magazines around. The fiction is consistently very good and the non fiction articles reliably interesting and well written.
p.s. Jan- I have enjoyed reading your blog and am grateful for some of the writers you have steered me towards.

I like their daily reports better than the magazine these days. It's faster and easier to check. The magazines I too often don't get to as it gets stacked somewhere and something else ends up on top of it.
