What about that Oakland warehouse fire? Any info on that? Was it arson? I'm really getting scared. I've been trying to keep myself going but am at a total dead end today.
The Oakland fire is a horror - and all too easily imaginable. People in my little artsy parish almost certainly knew people in there. I did not immediately leap to arson; I've been in spaces like that (even rewired one in my construction days and that was a mistake.) Because space is so expensive here, fringe culture occupies very physically deteriorated and dangerous niches. Landlords like the money. Artists put up with all this in order to get by.
If we were at a dead end, it would be easier -- as it is, we must labor on. :-)
