Democracy dies when the spooks are a law unto themselves. All the more reason to demand a thorough, legal, and bipartisan investigation. Sure, at present, the GOPers want to hang on to their chance to grab all the goodies. But this, too, is about the survival of our semi-democratic polity.

"No institutional counterweight ..."
Jay Cost is a conservative political analyst who writes for the right wing Weekly Standard. He can be annoying (and is here.) Not my kind of guy. But I think his warning in this series of tweets points to realities that we, progressives who are chortling about Trump and his minions tying themselves in knots about their Russian connections, forget at our peril.

Daily Beast had a good article this morning that Obama is not helping the Dems by trying to influence say who got the head of DNC (which it is said he did) and taking all the air out of the room by his charisma and not allowing new Dems to rise as 2020 is coming all too soon and who is out there building a fan base besides maybe Elizabeth Warren. I don't consider the leaks healthy and haven't before as it does make you wonder who is really running things...
Incidentally, I don't know if you know but I moved your blog to my political one where i have pretty much moved all who post politically with the goal of keeping Thoughts from being negative-- although someone said my post on Chomsky was political lol Maybe it's not possible right now
