In my blurry morning condition, this New York Times headline set off a momentary thrill. Could I be catching a glimpse of a better future?
Sadly not. The story is about an accused monster out of the past. Contemporary monsters still enjoy impunity.
The more I contemplate the human waste our unnecessary wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and across the world have wrought, the more I know I am seeing crimes against humanity.
